Welcome to the SMU Wakeboard Club Website!

The SMU Wakeboard Club was founded in Fall 2005 and is a Club Sport under the SMU Department of Rec Sports. The SMU Wakeboard Club has received over $1,500 in funding from SMU Student Senate which has gone to purchase a club set of boards, bindings, life jackets, and wetsuits for people new to the sport or without their own gear.

Benefits of Joining the Club

  • Ability to ride up to 2 times per week for virtually the entire school year

  • 2007 Mastercraft X-Star and X2 boats, which are the same boats that pull the X-Games and the Pro Wakeboard Tour
  • Chance to ride in collegiate tournaments across Texas and the country

Where and When We Ride

  • Practices are scheduled through Brian Sasser’s Wakeboard School in 1.5 hour blocks for three riders
  • Boats runs almost every day of the week, weather depending
  • Practices are held on Lake Lewisville which is 30 minutes north on I-35 at the Garden Ridge exit and Texas Mastercraft’s private lake in Ft. Worth

Club Dues

  • Club dues are $200 per semester and include:
    • Up to 2 sessions per week
    • Professional coaching and Mastercraft X-Series boats
    • Use of club equipment
    • Discounts from club sponsors
